What I Learned from Almost a Year Off Social Media
I didn’t plan to take a break. But one skipped post turned into a week. A week turned into a month. And then suddenly — I was off socials for almost a year.
No dramatic exit. No big announcement. Just quiet.
Running a creative business means constantly showing up. For clients. For launches. For growth. But after a while, I realised I was showing up for everyone except myself. Social media stopped feeling creative — and started feeling performative.
So I gave myself space. To not post. To not explain. To not be visible, just for the sake of it.
What I learned in the silence:
🔸 Clarity doesn’t come from forcing consistency — it comes from rest.
🔸 You can still grow without being online all the time.
🔸 Creative energy needs protecting. It gets drained fast when you’re always “on.”
🔸 People don’t forget you as quickly as you think. The right ones stay.
What’s different now:
I’m showing up again — but with more intention.
🟡 I’m posting things that feel like me, not just what performs.
🟡 I’m telling stories behind the brand — the unpolished, figuring-it-out parts too.
🟡 I’m focusing on building connection, not just visibility.
If you’re in a similar space — permission to pause. It doesn’t mean you’re failing.Sometimes it’s just part of building something real.
Thanks for being here. Let’s try again, but better.
